About

BIO

Jude Ribisi (he/they) currently lives in western MA, but spent most of their early life, career, and young adulthood in the NY Capital Region. Jude is a photographer, collage artist, printmaker, and art model, specializing in capturing queer lives, self-love, and the beauty of the erotic male form for the past 15 years.

Jude got their start in art early in college with a focus on graphic design. After an impromptu posing session for their Beginning Drawing class, Jude got the bug to try art modeling for photographers and for figure drawing classes and workshops. This led to meeting Robert Siegelman in Boston, who became a huge inspiration for Jude to start creating art of their own.

Jude’s work has shown in a variety of queer art publications, including Doable Guys and Noisy Rain, and recently had work start to appear in exhibitions and private collections. Jude has also self-published evincient, an art book that explores their early photography work.

PROJECTS

ALL PROJECTS ARE ONGOING.

SELFIE:PATTERN PROJECT >>

(2018 – ongoing)
Collages made with found assets, provided photography, and generated elements

Originally borne out of a period of being under undue stress, SELFIE:PATTERN project started out as an artistic exercise to work with the constraints of the provided images, losing the control over how the figure is cropped, angled or lit. Being colorblind (red-green deficient), it has grown into more of an exploration of color and artistic queer sexual liberation by utilizing fellow queers’ adult selfies that they provide themselves for this project, exposing an intimate view they often keep for specific circles.

PORTRAITS OF QUEER INTIMACY >>

(2010 – ongoing)
Digital photography

For my photography, I take on more of a documentarian role. The subjects are encouraged to wear what makes them feel sexy, or strong, or most beautiful, whether that’s a hoodie and a jockstrap or nothing at all. Whenever possible, I love shooting in a space the model is already comfortable in, like their home or even business, adds a personal touch. Beyond that, it becomes a record of our shared experience of the shoot, often an initial meeting. Each shoot is a personalized intimate conversation, a collaboration of two people learning about each other.

MODELING (REMOTE/IN-PERSON) >>

(2010 – ongoing)
Nude model and artist subject for countless photographers, digital and analog creatives

My art came from my modeling. I wouldn’t be an artist had I not met such talented and beautiful photographers that captured me with their own individualistic artistic voice. Modeling allows you to see yourself through another’s eyes, a cathartic and therapeutic exercise of a view most people don’t experience.
